International Conference on Software and Systems Processes (ICSSP) has been recognized as one of the premier conferences in Software Engineering (SE), in particular the top venue in the research area of software process. ICSSP is one of the SE conferences with the longest history. It was initiated since 1985, when it was International Software Process Workshop (ISPW) which was founded by a number of SE pioneers such Berry Boehm, Leon Osterweil, Dewayne Perry, and Ross Jeffery. It was merged with Software Process Simulation Workshop (SPSW) in 2006 to be the International Conference on Software Process (ICSP) in 2007. In 2011, the conference further extends its scope to include the research on systems process. Compared to other academic venues on software process (e.g., PROFES, EuroSPI, SPICE all with CORE Rank B which mostly focus on the European software process community), ICSSP is more globally regarded as the top venue for the researchers and practitioners on software process. ICSSP receives more submissions annually and provides quality peer-review by more prestige international program committee members as domain experts than its comparators. More importantly, it has become the most important global forum for world-wide researchers and practitioners to communicate and discuss the advance of research and practice on software process, as well as motivates young researchers to publish their recent outcomes for effective feedbacks.
