There is no rational criterion to rank this conference as B. If you look at the number of submissions, attendees, acceptance rates, and the people who publish there, this conference has nothing to envy to A conferences.

This is an A-ranked conference based on number of submissions, acceptance rates, citations, and the reputations of the authors who publish there. Quality of feedback in reviews is very detailed and high. Attendance at the conference is very high, facilitating networking. There is a dedicated doctoral symposium and events for PhD students (such as research contests). There is a vibrant tutorial and workshop program and co-located events.

This is IMHO the top conference for rigorous, model-based software and systems engineering. The attendees come from a wide range of software engineering backgrounds (formal methods, software language engineering, tools, practitioners), which creates an interesting mix that allows for cross-fertilization between software engineering theory and practice. The conference consistently has a significant number of exciting co-located workshops and tutorials that focus on specific topics of interest related to modelling, further fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Any objective metric you can think of would immediately put this conference at the top of the rankings. It's without any doubt THE conference on software /systems modeling, model-driven engineering and similar topics.

Any conference can claim to be the premier venue for its field, however in the case of MODELS, this claim is actually true. There is no better venue for presenting and discussing advances in model-based approaches. Top scholars in the field regularly choose MODELS to publish their ideas and results because of the reputation that comes with a MODELS publication and the resultant opportunities to interact with other top scholars in the field.

This is definitively THE top conference in software modeling. MODELS attracts hundreds of exciting contributions and people year after year. It is welcoming of newcomers (e.g., via a doctoral symposiums and competitions) and related areas as well. The feedback on submissions and on presentations is excellent. No weak point, except for the undeserved "B" in this ranking!
