This is one of the two flagship conferences in Robotics and AI. Having a "B" rating gives mockery to CORE's rating effort.

This is the flagship conference of the robotics community and the only truly comprehensive conference addressing the discipline. The reviewing standards and expectations have been greatly upgraded over the last decade. It shoudl be noted that the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society is the primary international organization for robotics research. It's web page states "The International Conference on Robotics and Automation is the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's flagship conference and the premier international forum for robotics researchers to present and discuss their work."

It is a large robotics conference, but the acceptance rate is very high and the quality of papers is variable quite a bit. There are some good papers, but the majority are very low quality. A 'B' rating seems appropriate.

ICRA is the premier conference in the interdisciplinary community of Robotics. It is routinely attended by top experts in robotics from multiple disciplines, not just Computer Science. Here is a link to Google Scholar Matrics in robotics --- https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=eng_robotics --- At the date of posting ICRA has an h5-index of 105, compared to 73 for IROS (another A-rated Robotics conference). Rating ICRA as tier B, either suggests that the whole area of robotics is sub-par or brings to question the evaluation methodology at CORE might not be taking expert opinion into consideration.
