This conference is well-known to be the top venue in the field of machine learning and AI (similar quality to NIPS, ICML, UAI) and should be ranked to A*.

Anyone at the interface of AI, machine learning and Stats will recognize AISTATS as a top conference. Ranking A*, as with NIPS and ICML, is a must.

top four conferences in ML/AI: NIPS, ICML, UAI, AISTATS. AISTATS also attracts statisticians. Consider paper quality instead of conference scale, it should be a A* conference.

This conference is a top-tier conference in MLAI, along with ICML and NIPS. AISTATS have many strongly theoretical results. This should be ranked A*.
